The eighth Jember Fashion Carnival (JFC) was held on August 2, 2009 and has the theme ‘World Unity’ promoting world peace and unity.
Some 600 people took part in the carnival by walking along the main road that is 3.6 kilometers long in Jember. They performed several fashion movements including runways and dances. Such is the nature of the Jember Fashion Carnival, Indonesia’s answer to Rio de Janeiro.
This event has brought the East Java city alive, with hundreds of clothes designers, both professional and amateur, presenting their alternative and creative designs, made from a range of materials.
